We are officially postponing the Spring Conference until October!

Please see the official statement below:

To all members and friends of the NHSMA:

After much discussion and thought, the NHSMA 2020 Spring Conference, to be held on April 17 and 18 2020, has been postponed.   This is in obvious response to the Coronavirus issue that is affecting us all.

We are happy to state that we have been able to secure the same space at Holiday Inn- Concord, NH for the dates of October 16 and 17, 2020 which are also a Friday and Saturday. We are hoping to keep as much to the April Agenda as possible and so far many of the speakers tell us they will be available for the October dates.

For those that have already paid, we are offering you two options. If you will be able to attend the designated dates in October you can leave your payment as is and we will document that you will be attending the future event. Those of you that are unable to attend in October we can certainly refund your money. Please contact us on the website (use the CONTACT US page) to let us know what you wish to do.

For those of you that want to attend the conference in October and have not paid yet you are able to sign up through our website. We are keeping the registration page on the website open and as a THANK YOU for everyone’s patience we are indefinitely keeping the “Early Bird” price set. Registration for the event will close fully on 9/26/20.

The biggest concern for rescheduling our conference is the voting for Delegates and Alternates to the AAMA National Conference and our New Hampshire Executive Board officers. We will be sending out a separate email to eligible voters soon and will also post notices on Facebook and our website regarding this issue. We will do our best to keep you all informed as we go along

We can not thank you all enough for your patience and understanding during this unique time we are in.

Everyone, please take care and remember to practice the standard precautions we all learned in order to stay safe.

Linda Prince, CMA(AAMA), COA, OCT-C

Please note, regarding the credentialing question: Since the NHSMA welcomes ALL Medical Assistants it is helpful for us to get a sense of how many of our members have different credentials. We want to advocate for all of you so we want to be sure we are speaking to the right organizations. Below is a list of of the 3 most common organizations in the state and what credentials they present.

Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) Credential is through the American Medical Technologists (AMT)

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Credential is through the  National Healthcare Association (NHA)

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Credential is through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
